.summer camp '09.

salam,
just came back from summer camp uk in
gradbach scout camp, buxton peak district,
what an exciting experience it was,
trekking,abseiling 20m cliff,war games,
obstacle course,blindfolded,bbq,
sharing moments (pengisian)
result for pre med were out th day I came back,
alhamdulillah will be entering 1st med this sep,
grades wasn't tht good but made it through..

p/s my skin is a bit darker now (tan), forgot to
put sunblock during th camp.. :(

summer breaks

alhamdulillah, habis exam on 8th,lst paper

agak mencabar, hmm moga semuanya baik2 shj,

9 jun, terbang ke london utk renew passport

flight pkul 12.10 tghri,

di london, hmm timing xbtul utk dtg psl pekerja2

tube underground plan mogok hari berikutnya 10 jun,

mmg nmpkla kbantutan warga londoners utk

pg berkerja on the 10th, tp tube strike pon ada hikmah,

my passport siap dlm beberap minit shj lepas

siap prosedur suma..

(my sis pun skali renew passport)

jd kalo nk dpt passport cepat siap..pgla time tube strike ye

blk ke dublin mlm 10 jun, malang fligt delayed drpd

9.10 pm jd 11.10 pm..dan selamat berlepas dlm pkul 12 mlm

dan touchdown di dublin dlm 12.55, 11 jun

smpai bilik lebih kurang 1.30 pg..

alhamdulillah..

masa utk pack brng pindah rumah!!

p/s terima kasih kpd my sis yg bawa ronda2 di london,

makan di malaysian hall di taja olehnya,

opportunity, I will still and always remember this

now,
as everyone else whom share the same thing as I am,
there's so much need to be done, preparing items,
packing in luggage which might weigh as you are,or
even heavier (yalah..1 big luggage,hand carry luggage, and bag pack)
schedule their time to meet friends,teachers...
going for predepartue programmes for last words from
either sponsor or to be university
(alhamdulillah, I've went to IMAM n RCSI predepartue)
and lots and lots..haha
suddenly I realized that I've left bio,chem n physcis
for quite a long time..hmmm


untill that time comes, I''ll just have to wait and pray
hoping things go as what have been planned. If Allah's will

hmm..apart of the accident case, there were other cases that happen during that day and one that attract my attention was,,, there's this lady when I saw her she was vomitting a black liquid out from her mouth..well that's kind a creepy at first,but it 's fun to watch and get to know what's going on really gives me an excitement .. and after I ask the nurse that black liquid that the lady vomitted was actually charcoal that she was ask to drink..well somehow I just knew that day charcoal (click for details) is used for certain treatmant of poisoning (it does have a value in medicine)

Day 2

Well this time around,when I went to the hospital I have a task that needs to be accomplished which was I need to learn and get additional information from medical personnel about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR..since I need to prepare for my english presentation back in USIM..so it just come across in my mind CPR will probably be the best topic as a public speaking presentation..Alhamdulillah that day my sis was working in resus (red zone) where critical cases were observed here,and that means if I'm lucky, probably there will be cases where CPR is conducted..and to my suprise there's one..
patient indian woman,she was brought to resus due to heart attack (myocardial infarction) she had the attack in the morning when she was going to vote (happen during the election..sorry for her,maybe she was so excited to vote for the RIGHT candidate) so she was put under observation..and after a time..it struck again the heart attack..and this time it's serious..somehow the nurse saw she was like gasping so they had to intubate..seeing no response..they had to perform CPR..hmm..lucky for me to witness a real life situation but felt sorry for her..I tried to help but only by pushing the blue button(code blue)..then there was this moment when her heartbeat enter the VF (ventricular fibrillation -click for details) stage..so one the MA (medical assistant) had to prepare the defibrillator machine (the electrical shock device oftenly use in the tv..which they usually shouted..CHARGE!) but suddenly it went to normal..so not this time for me to witness the using of the device..hmm I was hoping that the auntie will still have the chance to live and maybe to vote for the last time..

Then I heard my sis said to me..' nak buat tak CPR? '..and I was..haa ok..hmm this is my chance to learn it in a real threatening situation..with guidance from the trained nurse whom was the trainer in CPR course..I took the oppurtinity to help..after all..since it's very tiring(30 compression..huh) so the man(MA) alternately perform the CPR and I'm the only man that haven't done it..after more than half an hour..we tried the best that we could to save her but no one can escape from god's fate..she was destined to die that day. Very much I learned that it is important for us to know about CPR and how to perform it the right way because maybe one day that person that we need to save is probably someone that we know and if we are hesitate or nervouse we might not have the chance to see them again..
my gratitude to all doctors,ma,nurses that have work endlessly saving human's life (a noble job indeed)

.a visit to the ED.

In this post I would just like to share some of my precious moment when I had the chance to visit ED (emergency department) in Selayang specialist Hospital..thanks to my sis who gave me the green light to do so..with hubby abg iqhbal

Well I had this oppurtunity when I was in my mid sem break during my matriculation days,kind a boring just to sit down at home so I accompanied my sis just to have a glimpse at what was it like to become a doctor...hmm..challenging I must say.I visited the hospital randomly when I think I was free enough..and when I was prepared physically..heh


Day 1

The first day was a bit like full of anxiety thinking of what to do,what to say,how to communicate with the staff,and maybe patient itself.. that day kngah was on on call..as I arrived at the hospital there was an ambulance call, so I voluntereed to join the team which this case later on became my main attention..so the case was an accident at taman rimba komanwel, an indian man,age around 50 above,drunk,drove the motorcycle ..(heh there's always an advice on this kind of people..don't drink and drive!) so later on at the hospital the doctor in charge in ortho spend some time to diagnose this uncle..this was my first lesson that I gain from the pros..as the uncle experience pain his upper part of the body,he claims that he can't move his shoulder,so the doctor run few test with a piece of a paper clip..(well at first I thought it was a needle) to check which part was affected,after inspecting the uncle,reviewing his xray,discussion among peers..later on he concluded that the uncle suffers from the medical term 'central cord syndrome (CCS)'>>

Central cord syndrome is an "incomplete lesion," a condition in which only part of the spinal cord is affected. In central cord syndrome, there is greater weakness or outright paralysis of the upper extremities, as compared with the lower extremities. Unlike a complete lesion, that causes loss of all sensation and movement below the level of the injury, an incomplete lesion causes only a partial loss of sensation and movement. click here for more info
